Model Mayhem Perth Shoot - September 2010

Looks like Perth Model Mayhem may be embarking on a regular shoot! Here are some additions from the weekend shoot in Fremantle. Thanks to all the models who turned up for the shoot! We were quite fortunate with the weather as it was overcast when we started and started raining towards the evening.

With the location, it was under Stirling Highway Bridge in Fremantle which basically gave us backdrops with a bridge, river, bush, stairs, park and rocks!

Sydney Landscape

I was in Sydney for the weekend and managed to squeeze the limited time I have there with a few photos of the harbour. It's been a while since I was last in Sydney and it's great that I finally get to take some shots of the harbour.

I was trying to find a good vantage point to catch both the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. There were lots of office towers which would have provided this but I doubt I'd be able to convince them to let me get up to the roof to take photos. And guess what, as I got there to setup, it started raining. Had no choice but to snap a few shots and hoped for the best. Having said that, I managed to work my way to the best vantage point I could get to capturing this shot:

Model Mayhem Perth Shoot - August 2010

Model Mayhem Perth organised a photo shoot with some models in Fremantle, Maritime Museum over the weekend and it was a great turnout! We had a ratio of almost 1 model to 1 photographer. This gave the models and photographer the opportunity to work with everyone! The theme was different era's. Here are some photos from the shoot:

Night Photos - South Perth, Western Australia

I finally got the opportunity to shoot some night photos on an overhead bridge over the Kwinana Freeway in Perth one night. Here are my favourites from the shoot.

PIP Meet in Sorrento Quay

These are some of the photos taken at the recent PIP meet last week in Sorrento Quay. It was a good turnout with new and old faces, and also putting faces onto names. Thanks to JR for organising.


It was a rather windy night with lots of clouds which made it a good opportunity for long exposures.

Jess & Elesha Beach Photo Shoot

A last minute photo shoot was organised days just before New Years 2010 and I managed to join them. It was organised by OCAU and turned out quite well. The shoot took place in a nice beach in Illuka, north of Perth. As it was New Year's day, there wasn't many people around, besides the fact that it was blowing a gale that day. We had trouble fighting the wind to keep the light on the models with the reflector. Nevertheless, it was a good shoot with good lighting.

This was taken with a wide angle at 12mm very close to the ground. I tried to get as close as possible to capture an overhanging rock formation on the left. I had to also keep a watchful eye for incoming waves to ensure my gear doesn't get soaked.
